SurfMini Charging Base
A magnetic charging base for your SurfMini terminal. Set the terminal down and the magnets pull it into place, and the pogo pins take over charging and communication the moment it lands. Lift it off to take a payment at the table, drop it back to charge between customers.
Magnets do the lining up
There is no slot to aim for. Bring the SurfMini close and the magnetic alignment pulls it into the cradle the same way every time, screen facing forward on the tilted seat so it stays readable while it charges.
Five pogo pins on the back of the terminal meet the contacts in the base. They carry power and data at once, and they are built for the counter: frequent docking and undocking through a service day does not wear a connector or loosen a cable.
On when docked, off when lifted
The connection switches itself. Dock the terminal and charging and communication are on; lift it and they are off. Nothing to toggle, no cable to unplug before walking to a table, and nothing to plug back in when you return.
The base is meant to live at the counter or the pass, wherever the SurfMini comes back to between payments. Its cable is fixed to the base, so power it from a USB adapter and leave it there.
