Press kit
The brand, and the files to use it.
Everything a journalist, a partner, or a coding agent needs to represent Surfboard Payments correctly: the logo files, the palette, the type, the photography, and the rules that go with them.
Building something on-brand? Hand your agent the whole thing
One request returns these guidelines in full: naming, logo files, hex values with contrast pairings, type, voice, imagery rules, and every download kit. The same content is typed at /api/ai/brand.json.
The logo is a surfer mark beside a two-line wordmark reading Surfboard / Payments. The two are one artwork and are never re-spaced, re-stacked, or re-typed.
Placement
- Clear space. Keep clear space on all four sides equal to the height of the surfer mark. Nothing, no type, rule, or image edge, enters that space.
- Minimum size. Lockup: 120px wide on screen, 30mm in print. Mark alone: 24px on screen, 8mm in print.
- Backgrounds. Primary lockup on Paper (#EEF3FD), white, Light Blue (#D5DFF7), or any pale ground. Reversed lockup on Deep Sea Blue (#010927), Ocean Blue (#0E44E1), or photography dark enough to hold it.
- Files. Use SVG wherever the medium accepts vectors. PNG is a fallback for raster-only surfaces and is supplied at 2x.
Never
- Re-draw, trace, or generate the surfer mark. Place the supplied file.
- Recolour the logo outside the supplied variants, including gradients.
- Rotate, skew, stretch, or otherwise change the proportions.
- Add a drop shadow, glow, outline, or bevel.
- Set the wordmark in a substitute typeface.
- Place the logo on a busy area of a photograph, or on a mid-tone that leaves it low-contrast.
- Lock the logo up with another company's logo without a divider rule and equal clear space.
- Use the mark and the full lockup together in the same composition.
Roughly 70% ground (Deep Sea Blue or Paper), 20% type, 10% accent. Coral Green is a highlight, not a surface.
- Deep Sea Blue #010927 The primary ground. Dark surfaces, body text on light grounds, and the colour of the product packaging.
- Ocean Blue #0E44E1 The brand blue. Links, primary actions on light grounds, and branded elements.
- Coral Green #00FFA7 The accent. Primary buttons on dark grounds, approval and success states, and highlights. Never for body text.
- Light Blue #D5DFF7 Secondary prose on dark grounds, and a pale ground on its own.
- Paper #EEF3FD The light ground. A blue-tinted stock cut on the Ocean Blue hue, never plain white: it is what every light page on the site is printed on.
- White #FFFFFF Primary text on dark grounds, and the light ground on surfaces that cannot carry Paper, such as print, email, and third-party templates.
Support and signal
- Deep Blue Sea #092793 A deeper blue for gradients and layered dark surfaces.
- Signal Yellow #FFD93B Warnings, and nothing else.
- Signal Red #F01C55 Errors and declines, and nothing else.
- Signal Orange #FF965F Occasional editorial accent. Not a status colour.
Pairings that pass
Never
- Coral Green text on a light ground. It measures 1.2:1 on Paper and is unreadable. Use #056B48 (5.9:1) or Ocean Blue instead. Do not use #029964: it measures 3.3:1 and misses AA.
- Ocean Blue text on Deep Sea Blue. It measures 2.7:1.
- Yellow, red, or orange as a decorative colour. They carry meaning.
- Neon glows, dark-mode gradients bleeding into purple, or any treatment that reads as crypto rather than as payments infrastructure. The reference points are Stripe, Adyen, and Yoco: restraint, whitespace, real photography.

How it sounds
- Plain and specific. Name the thing, give the number, move on.
- Written for builders. The reader is usually an engineer or a product lead at a software company, not an end consumer.
- Confident without superlatives. The proof is the detail, not the adjective.
- Short sentences. One idea each.
Words to avoid
- revolutionary, seamless synergy, game-changing, cutting-edge, next-generation
- "solutions" used as a noun where a real word exists
- exclamation marks in product copy
- describing where a card scheme issues cards. Describe Surfboard's acceptance footprint instead: which markets Surfboard accepts merchants in, and which methods can be enabled there.

Shooting and placing
- Real photography of real hardware. Use the supplied product images rather than generating a terminal.
- Premium fintech restraint: daylight, real venues, generous whitespace, shallow depth of field. Not neon, not floating in a void, not glowing.
- The device is the subject. Hands and venues support it, they do not crowd it.
- The ready-to-pay acceptance screen is the default state on a device in marketing imagery: amount, accepted methods, tap prompt.
- For an approved state, pair the Surfboard success mark (mint scalloped starburst with a navy check) at a modest size with the receipt QR. Do not fill the screen with the check.
Never
- Generate, redraw, or restyle a Surfboard terminal. The proportions, port placement, and screen UI are all wrong when invented, and partners notice.
- Change the colour of the hardware. Terminals are supplied in the finish shown.
- Show a competitor's payment UI, card art, or terminal on a Surfboard device.
- Composite a card scheme logo onto a screen where that method is not actually supported in the market shown.
- Stretch or crop the device out of its real aspect ratio.
One line
Surfboard Payments is a Swedish payment institution providing unified in-store, online, and mobile payments through a single API.
Short
Surfboard Payments builds white-label payment infrastructure for software companies. One API covers in-store terminals, Tap to Pay, and online checkout, so software providers can embed payments into their own products without becoming a payments company. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Stockholm, Surfboard Payments is a licensed payment institution supervised by Finansinspektionen (Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority). The platform runs multi-cloud across Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, three independently PCI-certified providers, at 99.99% uptime. Surfboard is active in 12 European markets, and its fastest partner went from signup to first live transaction in five hours.

If a model is writing the deck, the landing page, or the launch post, it should be reading the brand rather than guessing at it. These endpoints need no key and no login.
The rules, in order of how badly they read when missed
- Never draw the Surfboard logo or the surfer mark. Fetch the SVG from the logo list and place it.
- Never generate a picture of a Surfboard terminal. Use a supplied product image; every product kit is listed at /api/kit/index.json.
- Spell it Surfboard Payments. Products carry a medial capital: SurfTouch Pro, SurfPrint Pro K, SurfMini.
- Grounds are Deep Sea Blue #010927 or Paper #EEF3FD, never plain white. Ocean Blue #0E44E1 fills the primary action on light; Coral Green #00FFA7 fills it on dark and is never text on a light ground.
- Headlines in Space Grotesk, body in Inter, code in Space Mono.
- Aim for premium fintech restraint (Stripe, Adyen, Yoco), not glow, neon, or crypto styling.
- Take factual claims from /api/ai/company.json rather than inferring them.
- Describe Surfboard's acceptance footprint, never where a card scheme issues cards.
- Brand guidelines, markdown /brand.md This page as one document. The one to fetch first.
- Brand guidelines, JSON /api/ai/brand.json Every rule, colour, and logo file as typed fields.
- Download kits /api/kit/index.json Every kit, each with a captioned manifest and a zip.
- Company facts /api/ai/company.json Where every factual claim in press material should come from.
- Product catalogue /api/ai/products.json Specifications, features, and imagery for every device.

Usage
Editorial and partner use. Press may use the logo and product photography to illustrate coverage of Surfboard Payments. Partners and resellers may use them to market Surfboard hardware and services they resell.
- Use the files as supplied. Do not alter, recolour, or recompose them.
- Do not imply a partnership, endorsement, or certification that does not exist.
- Do not use the marks in your own product name, logo, domain, or app icon.
- Keep product photography with the product it shows. Do not present one terminal as another.
